Better Community Living provides a multitude of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, one of which being Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) and Employment. These programs are designed to provide opportunities for individuals to enhance daily-living and interpersonal skills through community involvement.

CBDS and Employment offer individuals the opportunity to:

  • Explore different career paths
  • Volunteer throughout the community to build confidence and enrich personal lives
  • Experience new places to support fuller participation in community life.
  • Develop daily and independent living skills
  • Socialize with others to enhance interpersonal skills.
  • Pursue personal interests and hobbies

Our services are…

Individualized

We focus on a person-driven approach, recognizing the individual themselves as well as their support system are in the best position to know what will help them lead the most fulfilling and independent life possible.

Goal-Oriented

Individuals work with our program manager and staff to plan activities that are specific to their personal goals. We work within the ISP process to make sure that our individuals receive a plan of activities that directly support what they want to achieve. Whether the goal is centered around employment, social interaction, or life skills, we make sure that each individual feels supported and encouraged to accomplish what they want.

Flexible

Each individual leads the decision-making process concerning the type and amount of support they receive. We evolve as their needs change and work with DDS to offer individuals and their families the opportunity to exercise control over the supports that are available to them.
